How important is CAS for RAM?

Go to solution Solved by Mooshi,

I poke fun at DDR4 kits, but the reality is that there isn't really anything to be concerned over in real world usage. Since this DDR3, still no. You're not gaining anything spending more for 8 over 9 outside of synthetic numbers.

For gaming, differences in RAM speed make almost no difference in performance at all. I might spend a couple extra bucks on the kit with the lower CL (depending on how much extra cash I had on hand), but there won't be much difference..

I have a 2400 Mhz CL 10 kit in my system. I've had it run at 1333 Mhz CL 9 and didn't notice anything until I opened CPU-Z and saw the numbers..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems
