Builded my pc today, got a problem :

Hello folks,

i wanted to build my new rig today.

When i tried to start it a few hours ago it started for a moment. The coolers started running and the graphic card ( MSI GTX 970 ) began to light up the logo.

I had no monitor plugged in. ( Test run )

After 3-4 secs it stopped and since then i got no other life signal from my pc.

I decided to make a break maybe i overlook something but right now i don't see anything left to do, someone got an idea?

Setup is : I7-5820

Gigabyte X99 UD4

GTX 970 MSI

16 gig crucial ddr4

NZXT h630

Noctua NH-DH15

Samsung Evo-500gb

checked my power connection cables but everything seems quite alrigt. next step would be checking the PSU but when it comes to moba or CPU i don't have any 2011-3 to test with :<

Hopefully someone got a clue.

In my mainboard there was no beeper included? are they build in? if yes then i don't hear a thing ._. i also had no in my old pc :/

thanks in advance :)

What's your PSU?

Also, the tiny speaker should come with your mobo...

1. Remove cables from power supply to everything in the build.

2. Jump power supply (someone else can explain how, better than I can)

3. If the power supply doesn't start by jumping, you may have a bad power supply.

At least that's what I would do.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Check your RAM.

Could be this, I once didnt have the ram seated correctly lol. IF that doesnt work check your CPU fan and see if it seated correctly.

Worst kind of luck.....I know.  Try removing one stick of RAM and power system on.  If no joy, try the stick you removed....then try each slot.  If after this is done, still no joy....then you can eliminate the RAM as the issue.  If you have a multimeter, check your voltage coming from your PSU through the 24 Pin and 8 Pin.  Below is a schematic of where to test....make sure your negative probe is on a common (ground).  This way you can eliminate your PSU as the culprit.  Each 12, 5, and 3 should generally read over that (ex. 12v sometimes reads as 13v and so on).   Not sure of your skill level but these will eliminate two components of your system.  Good luck. ;)
