Stock cooler overclocking

Hey guys,

Yes;I will be attempting the PC gamer equivalent to jumping several burning buses with coccaine addicted crocodiles in them on a tricycle but I feel lucky.

So I am still using my beautiful i5 3570k and my less beautiful MSN Z77A-GD55 motherboard.

What do I need to know and what do I need to do?

Upgrade your cooler before attempting anything.

Not a good idea to overclock with the stock cooler. It's not like jumping over the buses, it's like getting in one.

leave voltage at stock

 

try setting multiplier to 42

Will do as soon as I get to my desk. How will I know if that works properly?

aida64 it... keep temps below 85

You can go up a bit with stock cooler. But don't expect anything too high. Run you system under some stress and see how temps are and what the auto voltage is. Thats your reference point for OC.
