I bought the MSI twin frozr waiting for it to come in monday. I like the way it looks and everything I hear about the cooler made me happy to get it. It will look great with my MSI gaming 7 mobo. I like the Asus strix and it was a hard choice between them both. I would have gotten a EVGA but everybody says the AXC cooler on it now sucks and was not to happy about a blue off color being in my black/red sytem.

All i hear is about the gigabyte and strix version. what about MSI i hear NOTHING about MSI isn't it beeing under rated?

Pretty much all the same. The Asus Strix card just is awesome for what it is. Great cooler, 0db fan running until it hits a nice load.

I also bought a MSI 970 into my Gaming 5 and thought the same as you EVGA is meh and seems really noisy from reviews and ASUS's only 8pin solution turned me down.

1 more power phase than the Gigabyte GTX 970, and 2 more than the EVGA 970.

I just bought two of them Yesterday afternoon around this time... I'm interested to try the new fan configuration out but I'm guessing I'll end up making my own temp profile.

0db feature will also be on the ACX 2.0 cooler by EVGA and the thing with the 3rd heatpipe almost not touching seems like that it was on purpose.

I felt the same way about only a 8 pin but I am not one to oc a bunch but the extra power to the MSI made me happy :D

still doesnt explain why it's so hyped

I have never liked gigabyte I don't get the hype either, about any one brand of card. Most of the time the biggest difference is the cooler and some software that comes with it. All I want is a good card that I can finally replace my EVGA 550 ti with.

I think the gigabyte g1 970 looks sexy as hell. But that's subjective to opinions and everyone is entitled. They also have binned cores, although evga also advertises this. But g1 is known to hit the 1500 core + due to their binming and they have a shiny blue led an the side for peeps like me who have a blue and black color scheme.
