970 reference?

We have the 980 reference, but I can't find a 970 reference, and EKWB's facebook says they don't have a block for the 970 because there's no reference design. Yet, Nvidia's website shows images of the 970 reference cooler, and mentions it in their recent update about their SLI bridge: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/sli/bridges

 

Is there a 970 reference design? How might one buy one?

From what I've read, the cost of the reference cooler doesn't make sense for the 970. It's better for the companies to just design their own, and they will make more of a profit on the card when they do.

Maybe you can get a non-reference design with a non-reference cooler? Availability will be there soon, but usually the reference cooler doesn't make that much sense.

Well thats lame. I wanted to use the 970 in a MITX build, and a blower is ideal. The ugly blower from the 760 that I've seen on a 970 just makes me sad.

I agree. I'd just make sure the m-ITX case had good air flow and get a better cooler.
