Iv just taken out my fan control and linked my 8 fans to my motherboard

I have the Asus Z-87 Pro and am going to use the fan xpert on it to control the fans.

2CPU fans on the two fan ports on the MB

Fan port 1: 1x Bottom fan

Fan port 2: Back fan

Fan port 3: 2 top fans on a 4pin deepcool 4 port fan hub

Fan port 4: 2 front fans on a 4pin deepcool 4 port fan hub

I currently have crap cheap fans that are 3 pins and are a bit noisy

The fans i have looked at are the Corsair SP120 Quiet PWM 120mm Fans and will get 6 to replace the case fans.

Are these good enough? if not could you recommend something with a simular or cheaper price?

AF for airflow, SP for static pressure (for radiators for example).

Ah that sucks cuz the SP has the PWM connectors i want..

Rosewill hyperborea are often cheap

else get spectre pros

is this fine? it a site from my country?

Thats what iv read thats why i was going for the 120 SP fans but those are for radiators which i dont have haha and cant find any other with PWM connectors

Corsair fans are mediocre at best.

Get some silverstone air penetrator, noiseblocker Blacksilent pros or noctua's.

weird how they outperformed noctua in these tests if they're so mediocre

I've used NF-F12's, I've used Gentle Typhoons, and a few months ago I decided to buy some SP 120 quiet editions to test vs my gentle typhoons, they are extremely similar in noise levels at 5 volts, 7 volts and 12 volts.

The GT's are around 2 degrees better, but the Sp's match my build better so I decided to stick with them.  NF-F12's were louder to me at 5v, 7v, 12v than the SP120 QE's as well.

They are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.

They mainly are used for radiators, though there are other uses for them such as pushing air through drive cages.

Yes. You have had a good experience with them. But most people will good high end fans who have also used corsair fans will agree when I say they are pretty mediocre.

Evidence in the tests proves otherwise, and so does the fact that I've used "high end" fans.

The High performance fans are awful yes, but the qe are perfectly fine.

Corsair fans are not mediocre. They rank well with top fan manufacturers. That said, if they were only mediocre I would not expect them to be used so abundantly in custom builds and general rigs around. They looks great, they are quiet and they compete well.

The reason they are so wildly used is because they are an ok fan that looks good. Also for alot of first time builders, they buy corsair because is such a well known brand.

How many times have you seen first time builders

Asking for advice on their pc, and they have a h100i with sp120's although they can't or really don't need to overclock? It happens alot and I think if they didn't like they did, they wouldn't sell.

I'm not saying they are bad, I'm saying they are ok but are not on the same level as other fans.

Pretend fans were cars, the corsair stuff would be a BMW m3, fast but not the fastest.

But compared to the high end fans like noiseblocker they are mediocre (I'm talking about noise levels only)

We've both obviously had different experiences with them, and I'm not gonna change your opinion just like I'm not changing mine.

So lets just agree to disagree.

That said, if they were only mediocre I would not expect them to be used so abundantly in custom builds and general rigs around.

You know, if the RM Series was more expensive and performed worse than competing units from EVGA for example, I would not expect them to be used so abundantly. Oh wait, the power of Corsair's brand is what is selling their products. Not the quality. Thousands of kids buying Corsair fans doesn't mean the fans perform better than others. It means they're kids.

Not commenting on Corsair's fans, I just disagree with that logic.
