LG 34" Ultrawide LED IPS Monitor (34UM65-P)

Silver3lement

Yay or Nay, I'm looking for an ultra wide and since Linus reviewed the 34UM95 and gave it a thumbs up when I saw the lower spec version it looked pretty appealing to me because of price.

I'd personally rather just have two monitors side by side, but thats just me.

Also, the UM65 is 2560x1080 is it not? I'd just assume get an actual 1440p monitor at that point -- especially since it would be cheaper. But, I guess it also depends on your use.

I wouldn't go with a 1080p version.

There are much cheaper options if you want to go that route. Though I don't know if they're quite as wide.

If you want a cheaper option wait until next month when AOC releases their 1440p 34" model.

It's supposed to be substantially cheaper.

In the same way that the 34UM95 is a wider 27" 1440p, this is a wider 27" 1080p. Some will say 27" is too big for 1080p, but I disagree. I use an LG 27EA33, which is a 27" 1080p IPS monitor, and I love it. Yes, I'd like a 1440p monitor, but I don't find the 1080p bothering me.

So if you want the wide aspect ratio but can't afford the 34UM95, then sure, go for the 34UM65.

Lets get some more context then, Im going to be running this with GTX 770's in SLI playing mostly star citizen @ 2560x1080p(thats the plan at least), im not a stickler for ultra high maxxed settings just high. Still yay or nay( i dont like having 2 separate monitors very much, been running it for 7 years now)

Edit: pulling my hair out trying to decide lol. I wont be buying for another month probably so i have time.

my second question would be, is there a place i can go to find out all this info(does linus have a monitor guide)? and also 1440p 1080p(widescreen or 3 monitors) or 120Hz. Goal: Star Citizen gaming

You should go with a 29" 1080p or a 34" 1440p, the main reason not to get the 34" 1080p is cause it's still very expensive and the low pixel density is just going to look awful.

Thanks everyone for the info, the 29" 1080 might be the best option for what i described

after a bunch of googling it looks like a lot of gsync monitors will be released this fall from 24-27" better take a look at those first and buy later

Nvidia is also supposedly going to support free sync.
