So i've been using a 120gb SSD for some years now, and with large capacity SSD becoming ever so cheaper, i was thinking it is about time to upgrade to a 500gb or 1tb SSD. However I just wanted some options on data migration Vs fresh installing.

Does data migration effect the performance in anyway vs a fresh install of OS?

I was thinking about the Samsung Evo 1tb, with two Westen Digital 2tb Reds.

Currently got:

one 120gb corsair SSD

one 1tb seagate HDD

one 600gb WD something.

I'm into my photography and i use a lot of space for photographs.

I would do a fresh install. I also wouldn't recommend the evo at the moment as it has issues

Oh what sort of issues does it have? Could explain why it is so cheaply priced.

The read speed on older files reportedly slows as low as 60Mb/sec. I've been thinking of upgrading my SSD and this caught my attention last week.

Samsung drives are pretty famous for having good out of the box performance, but don't last very long and quickly drop off.  I cant remember the title of the article, but there was a website that tested SSD's until they failed and the Samsung drives lasted for quite a while but the performance dropped off super quick.  The overall winner was a Kingston drive, if I remember correctly.  Do a web search for the article.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Here you go, you can look at stuff here.  I have a Kingston drive and they are SUPER cheap to get ahold of.  A 240GB is only like $130.

My Kingston Drive is the 3k series, not the cheap v100 series used in this test.
