Suggestions for build please

I plan on buying it at the tigerdirect store near me and if they don't have the part, I can but it online. I put the ASUS 980 because I plan on buying the ASUS Strix GTX 980 (I know the one I chose on Pcpartpicker is not the ASUS Strix 980) which is going to be around $600 other wise, I am getting the Windforce G1 Gaming GTX 980 unless you guys recommend a different one.

I plan on playing games at 1080p max settings and once I get a new monitor in the future, I plan on playing at 1440p on games such as skyrim, bf3, bf4, Crysis 3, Dayz, and GTA V (only using 1 monitor). I also plan on making some minecraft mods in the future (which I am pretty sure can be done on this build) and some programming. I am looking for a different PSU if there is one for a similar price that is better and also possibly a different case.

I do not want to pass $1700

Any suggestions are wanted and recommened.

Hi, build looks solid but you are missing SSD. Throw in at least 128GB Crucial MX100 or 256GB version if you can afford it. Personaly if you cant go over this price I would dump those fans and get SSD instead and fans later.

And as @bmwm3186 mentioned, get at least that CM 212 EVO cooler for your CPU.

ditch the fans for a cpu cooler or a better psu ( not that its bad , i have the same one and its great , but a 80+ gold one might handle the loads better and extend the lifetime of your rig ) 550+ watts

I plan on getting an SSD and fans in the future and I would like to put my OS on the SSD if that is not hard and have some of my steam games on the SSD and the rest on my HDD
