Best 970 version to buy?

Debating between the EVGA and the MSI.

After reading this, it seems MSI is slightly more quiet, while EVGA is slightly a better performer.

Any suggestions?

Since there is no "best" one i'll say my opinion...I personally like the MSI one.

Does it actually make a difference in performance?

How come?

Some people might same X is more important then Y on a certain graphics card while other might say Y is more important then X on this and so forth for most features. It's all personal preference.

Probably going with the MSI one. I don't really understand the craziness over EVGA, these all seem like good cards of pretty similar performance.

I will buy a reference card when my local store gets them in stock. So probably EVGA because they're all the same price there.

Asus Strix!!! :D

Semi passive cooler. Low humming noise no sharp wooshing noise.

High clock speeds

Backplate

I personally would go with the most silent one. The asus strix seems to be the best in this regard since it's semi passive and has more of a humming noise. I was a huge fan of the twin frozr cards but this one doesn't have a backplate and i mistrust the numerous fan blades to be silent.

who cares...
