Was the upgrade from a 660 to a r9 290x(550USD) worth it? D: (since the 900 series came out I've been feeling down :()

It's still a very strong card.

They are, but you cannot expect your card to be top dog forever. It is what it is.

Let's hope AMD has an answer for this xD (If they were to lower the prices of the 290(x) I'm going to the corner to cry)

Are you gaming at 1080p? If so, your GPU is rendering more fps than your monitor (assuming its 60hz) can display in almost any game at maxed out settings. The GTX 980 is not significantly more powerful than the 290X, if you were to upgrade to a 980 now, you would not notice a difference. The only other thing you can complain about is the power consumption. I calculated today that in the US, you'd be paying $0.70 more on your monthly power bill for the 290X than you would for the 980. All that being said, you are just fine with the R9 290X and it will last you just as long as a GTX 980 would have lasted you. No reason to worry.

Yeah! Actually i might consider going into 4k and adding another 290x.... Would it be feasible? :o
