It could be for the TI or just for the new Titan.

No there is no more cores left on maxwell. there isn't going to be a 980 ti. AMD can't put out a card anywhere near maxwell for a long time

No Ti. The GTX 980 is a flagship in the way that the GTX 680 was a flagship, it's the fastest GM204 chip, NOT the fastest Maxwell chip.  We might not even see another Ti card unless they feel the need to not sell full fledged GM210 cores in the next few years.

It is possible, with the 780ti it was a refresh of the GK110 chip. If GM204 gets a refresh and Nvidia uses it we will most likely see a 980 ti
