Hello,

I recently bought a used ssd on ebay, the kingston Hyperx 120gb drive, i don't think the model no is important, if u need it ask me for it.  When I boot up Windows, everything is fine, but sometimes, when i wake it up from sleep and try and do anything, whether its opening a program, or highlighting some space on my desktop, everything will stop responding, i can move my mouse, but nothing responds.  The SSD is my boot drive, but i have a 1tb seagate barracuda as my storage drive for programs that i don't need on the ssd and other stuff.  I attatched screenshots of crystaldiskinfo.

Thanks.

(PS, just tried to grab some screenshots and its doing the not responding thing on the desktop trying to open crystal disk info.  thankfully google chrome isn't crashing, ill try and attatch screenshots later, PLZ HELP)

I can help with programming and hardware.

Can you go to Event Viewer -> "Custom Logs" -> "Administrative Events" and can you look for any common occurrences around the time of it freezing up? You're looking for "Error" and "Critical" level messages.

I think i found something important, its a warning around the crash time from the source storahci event ID 129 with no category and it said "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued."

Can you take a screen capture of the log at that time?

here are a few.  there are more than one of most of them, but i thought only one was necessar, there are also other errors, but i didn't know what to use.  would this fix if i were to wipe the drive.  could it be a mobo problem?  because when i boot it takes a long time at the MSi logo screen and before that, it also takes a while when the windows logo is up but before the spinny circle.  (Windows 8.1 if i haven't said that already.)

Have you made sure conections are all in properly? (Just basic stuff)

but if all else fails,

Back everything up then restore, see if it helps

i was having same issue on a my build, was windows 8.1 to blame :\

yeah, connections are solid, ill wait for bladofgrasses response because he has been very helpful, then ill probably restore, ive only got like steam and some other games, no important docs

Not sure if this will solve your problem, but based off of this page from Microsoft, running this command

lodctr /r

as administrator might solve your problem.

If it doesn't, maybe try running

chkdsk /r

and see if there are any bad sectors.
