How do I make my POST screen stay on longer?

Speedbird

Hi

I really like looking at the POST messages on motherboards, unfortuantely my Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 does it so quickly and my monitor powers on so slowly that I can't really see it. Is there any way how I can increase the POST time on that board? Thanks.

Turn off fast boot and turn on your monitor first.

Thanks, but that board has no fast boot option. I checked the manual. And I always turn on my monitor first, I even wait for the slpash screen to go away.

Nope, don't see anything. You're welcome to try, if you wish. This is the manual. http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-78lmt-s2_v.1.1_e.pdf

there should be an option to check stability every time you boot up

I would disable "fast boot" or "quiet boot" to see the whole process. If you tell us the board you have we may be able to help more. Ignore that, apparently I can't read...

I already disabled the full screen logo, but I see no fast boot option.

You may find "Delay for HDD" in your Advanced BIOS settings, which might be able to delay your spash screen. It might also be called "Post Delay", take a look around in the BIOS.

Is this supposed to be helpful or just sarcastic. If you had posted a link I would have been alright with it, but this comment feels like an LMGTFY in disguise.

Hmm, I could set the IDE device modes to Auto, so it looks for them instead of skipping them.
