So I have a

MSI A88XM-E45

760K Richland 3.8GHz Socket FM2 100W 4 core

Corsair 500 Watt 80Plus Bronze certified

And I was wondering if I could upgrade to a gtx 770 or 780(I have a 750 ti that I love)

if anyone could help that would be great(also I have not overclocked or anything so everything is default)

500 watts will work, but 50-60% of maximum draw is the sweet spot for most power supplies. I have a moderately overclocked 3570k and a moderately overclocked R9 290, 9 case fans etc.., and with AIDA64 stress test (everything selected) I'm still only peaking at 430 watts from the wall with an 80+ PSU.  a gtx780 and 760k will pull similar wattage, so maybe think about a 650W instead.

For bottlenecking, my CPU bottlenecks my GPU at times, but for that extra bit of performance its not worth spending hundreds on a motherboard and/or a new CPU just to avoid the few bottlenecks that occur in a small number of CPU intensive games.

I would actually wait for the 970, because it will probably smoke the 770 and pull less power, even to the point where a 500 watt GPU will be fine. with the added color compression, your cpu will be doing even less work.
