Hey guys!

Kind of new to the community. Hello. Yeah. So I've wanted to get in to water cooling for a looong time. I started looking around on Youtube, found Linus, Tinytomlogan and Singularitycomputers and got totally hooked. The thing is, my Zalman chassi has absolutely no space for adding anything more than an H100. After watching at least 30 unboxing videos of different chassis I couldn't find any that would fit well in to my living room next to the TV - which I use as my computer monitor.

So I figured; why not just use an old tv-stand and put my rig in there?

Specs:

Motherboard - Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 rev 1.2

CPU - AMD Vishera 8350 @ 4.4GHZ (hoping to join the 5 ghz club once I'm finished)

RAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ 9-9-9-24 CL9

GPU - ASUS GeForce GTX 680 2GB

GPU2 - EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2GB

SSD - Games Samsung 256GB 840 Pro Series

HDD - 1TB 7200RPM

PSU - Corsair HX 1050 watt with replacement sleeved cables (upgraded from my old 600w that was barely keeping up)

EKWB CPU block, 2x GPU block and replacement top for my Liang Li DCC pump.

6x Corsair SP120

Liang Li motherboard tray

A button to boot up my computer

Some tubing, some EKWB fittings.

Fancy T-virus res

They forgot to send parts of my order it seems. And they got the wrong liquid. Oh well.

I found some used radiators on the cheap. Tested for leaks etc; they seem fine.

240mm x 40mm

480mm x 40mm

The old tv-stand I had in the back, gathering dust. Not in the best condition but I like it.

First things first; cant have it all wobbly.

Time to sandpaper & paint the tray

Yup

Changed the top on my pump, added some of the fans and trying different positions for everything.

Apparently the regular screws won't fit in the 240mm radiator. No fans there until I find screws that fit.

Got stuck at the second GPU block because I didn't have any torx tool small enough to unscrew the stock cooler.

That's all for today. Hopefully I'll get the rest done this weekend.

I welcome any and all input/suggestions.

Minor setback.

I stupidly assumed that since i had 2x cards, i needed a dual link. Silly me.

There is a 4x PCI-E slot in between these x16, but I doubt that it'd be a good idea to use that one.

Do you guys reckon a triple link would work for this setup or am I assuming wrong again?

i had the same problem :P you will need  a triple serial link with a serial blank cover in between :)

Found the one I need.

This will only set me back a few days. I can work on the rest in the meanwhile.

hahaha crazzyy!
Are you gonna do a push pull in the future?

I don't think I will. TTL showed that the difference is only a few degrees and I don't think raising the sound levels will be worth it considering that I'm having this in my living room.

If things get too hot, I'd rather just add another 480 rad.

Glad I'm not the only one. :)

So this is where I end the day. Realized that regular fittings just won't do. Ordering a crapload of 45- and 90-degree fittings as well as the actual EKWB bridge. I also have to lower the floor with about 1 cm because the bridge is 2mm shy of being able to squeeze in.

Once I have all my stuff and the floor has been lowered it's just a matter of drilling the cable management holes (one done  sneakily behind the mobo already for the CPU power) then putting it all together.

I would like input on something though. Click on the button below to see my plan on the routing.

F0lLuxo.jpg

Yeah that's right. Paint. With a touchpad.

I originally planned to have the pump between the rads but with all the fittings so close to each other it would be hell to avoid kinks.

This is the route i figure would be easiest to do. The tube going from the 240 to the cpu would have to use a 90° and 2x 45° because the end of the mobo tray is just above where it would go up.

Any input on this? Suggestion of better routing? Remember, this is my first custom loop and I'm still learning as I go along.

Looks like a fun project! I don't know if this matters to you but the FrozenQ resevoir aka TVirus bulb replacements from FrozenQ come with black sleeving on the wires now. I know because I broke the one that came with it and when I ordered two new ones (UV and Green) both came pre sleeved and it looks way better than those white wires lol.

Alrighty! Back in business!

I got the new fittings as well as the proper bridge. Super dark here atm. Good thing HTC One takes great night pictures.

Drilled holes to lower the floor level on the tv stand. As I started drilling for the cable routing and tubing I ran out of battery... ... .. .. a few more hours of charging and I'm back in action! Again!

Thanks for the suggestion but I couldn't find anywhere to order that in my country.

Le cables, they go through here.

Messy!

sFJktt5.jpg

After sticking the rads with lots and lots of velcro to secure them, there was no room left for the pump as originally intended. Missing a few mm. No biggie, turns out that it's easier to do the tubing if its standing here anyway.

36vQbTo.jpg

Need to work on making the cables look pretty.  Getting the tubing up from the 240 was a challenge. A 90° leads to a 45° which connects to a 50mm extender, then another 45°.
