Hi Everyone,

Basically I'm new to all these assemble your own PC thing so I know very little about the computer parts that I would want to have.

What I want to make is something that would be able to play the games in the next 5 years, and preferably on high settings as well. Not really sure if this is possible with a $900-$1000 budget but I hope you guys would be able to help me. I would also like to know if it would be worth it to get an core i7 instead of the core i5 even if the only difference (from what I currently know) is the hyper threading thing if I'm planning to play games in the next 5 years with this computer.

Hope you could suggest builds you guys are using or something similar to what I would want.

PS: I'm only planning to use the computer for gaming and simple office software. Video/ Picture editing would be minimal if I would be doing these.

Thank you.

About as cheap as I could get a pc likely to do what you want in, no point in the i7 either, particularly at $1000 budget. I don't think this will play games on high for 5 years at 1080p/60 though, based on what gpus that were out 5 years ago can pull today.

@Faceman no I don't so I think I would have to order most of the parts online.

Thank you everyone for the suggested builds these would surely help me. Just a question, I noticed on the Pcpartpicker website the the i5 4670k is much more expensive than the 4690k. i know that generally the newer model would be bettter, just wondering why the older is much more expensive.

Its such a nice build. Please spend a little more for a better mobo. An unlocked i5 will be held back by that board.

You should go for a gigabyte gaming 5 or better. Its about $140 but has 8 true phase vrm.

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Z97 115dB SNR HD Audio with Built-In Rear Audio Amplifier ATX Motherboard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JKCHEQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_CNXfub040CH17

Also this cooler is as good as the noctua nh-d14

Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IYEEOMO/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_y9Ufub1EFD6J2 its only $55.

The items I listed will get your overclock maxed for what the cpu can do. Good luck.

Hi guys. Thanks again for all the suggestions. However, i dont think i would be able to get some of the parts as these are not available in the closest pc store in the place i live in.

i tried to build according to what is available and here is what i came up with. Also changed the video card as it is much more expensive in our place and it will greatly exceed the budget.

the ones you guys suggested runs for about $400-500.

So just a question. I have a few options for the video card that would run in my budget but don't really know which is better.

These are generally prized close to each other. Also will the performance be very different from what you have suggested or will i still be able to run the current games at high settings with these video cards.

Sapphire R9-270X Dual-X Boost OC 4GB GDDR5 256 Bit

Sapphire R9-270X Vapor-X Boost OC 2GB DDR5
Sapphire R9-270X Toxic 2GB DDR5 256bit Boost

Also, is this motherboard good? found a video in youtube that suggests this motherboard since it is very much overclockable.

Thanks again in advance. :)

"5 years, and preferably on high settings as well. Not really sure if this is possible with a $900-$1000 budget" -> No

And GPU > CPU
