How much better screen quality does 1440p have over the 21:9 im upgrading from a 1080p monitor and plan on using it for gaming. Im planning on getting the korean monitors so price not an issue

on a same sized screen the pixel density is increased. But if you have a health distance from your screen you should not see any pixels at 1080p.

1440 on a workstation(officework/programming) yes, gaming unnecessary, but if you want to spend the money go for it.

I wouldn't touch 21:9 in a 29" as it is a 23" monitor stretched so it feels quite narrow vertically.

A 29" 21:9 monitor is pretty much 23 inches in height with an extra 3 inches

(or an additional 6 inches in length added to one side) added either side like this:

There isn't enough vertical screen estate on 2560x1080, it's just terrible imho. The thread title should be 3440x1440 or 2560x1440. That's a tough choice!

I agree with most of the above, 1080p is fine for gaming and 1440p really sells itself on the desktop/productivity above anything else however I cant stand anything less then 26" in a 16:9 aspect ratio which means for 21:9 aspect ratio I'd want a 34" (pretty much matches 27" 16:9 screens vertically). Personally if I were buying now I'd go 27" 1440p (in fact I'll be ordering another one this afternoon lol) or if you can wait, 34" 3440x1440p should be more affordable next year (by then the Koreans should have their hands on the panels ;)).
