Which audio solution should I go for?

Should I get a very good gaming headset with a mic built in from SteelSeries or Sennheiser? Or should I get a very good pair of headphones from one of them or maybe even Bose and get the Blue Yeti microphone? I talk to my friends for hours on Skype every day and I play tons of competitive shooters. I want the best of the best and nothing else. :P

Well the best solution would be to get a set of headphones and a standalone mic (you don't need the yeti, just get the snowball or something, bear in mind though if you have a loud keyboard like blue switches, it will drive your mates mad)

Because he is totes an audio authority.

I have to disagree I would rather have the opinion of an average user rather than someone who can tell the difference between headphones blindfolded. He give a more realistic perspective in my opinion but yeah he is far from an audio authority.

I think he was saying he wouldn't necessarily want him to be an authority, I think?

Correct. I like hearing from the average consumer rather than someone who has used hd800s their entire life. Provides a clearer opinion for average audio consumers like me.
