I recently changed my pc's monitor and I've been having some issues.
My older monitors were two Sony under 20 inches notwidescreen with a max res. of 1280x768 , and my new is a Philips TV/Monitor 22ITE with a max res. of 1920x1080.(Also i am using a NVidia GT 640 2gb Graphics Card)

So, my problem is that although the resolution is at 1920x1080 some icons aren't clear the video does not seem like full HD and the text is bealry readable.(and yes i have done the clear text test thing that windows has).

Also Chrome's toolbar (the top part with all the options and the URL) is smaller than it was and so is the rest of it kind of.

That is all that have caught my attention if I see any other differences I will add them

If anyone can help me i would really appreciate that (and try to make anything as clear as possible......i might not know some of the things you are going to tell me to try)

P.S. The model of the old monitors is not included because i did not buy them and i never was interested to know(also there is no type of name or code on them), sorry if that is a problem.

I can't find a single thing about this tv/monitor he has and like AlwaysFSX asked I really wonder how he has the video card connected to the display? I was thinking of asking the same question as soon as I saw your post AlwaysFSX.  OP are you using an HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the card to the display or are you using VGA?  Some GT 640 cards have VGA. :S

Look at this page and tell us what connection your cable connecting to your display is running from ..

If it is like the blue one shown here then that explains some things.

Have you tried watching HD content with this monitor/tv with a blu-ray player or with cable tv?  How does it look then?

I played on the XBox360 in 1080p , and it was ok

But as soon as i used it to my pc everything is weird

i tried to fix it from the  monitor's options and i coundn't find anything

Wait a second.  Have you tried to reset the display?  Is there anything in the manual that tells you how you can do this?  Maybe it is set to like a store display mode.

With the GT 640 does it have multiple HDMI ports?  Some versions of the card do. If so try another port if you haven't already.  Also on the display do you have multiple HDMI ports?  If so try using a different one.

Let me check where the manual is...also no other hdmi ports not on the monitor or the graphics card

Didn't find the manual...although i did reset it to its factory settings and it did nothing....

Also my dad told me its because it is not really a monitor but a tv....with some monitor features..... maybe that is why the screen looks so bad when it is connected to the computer
