First Rig PH

Go to solution Solved by roballena,

After few months of deciding and saving money. I went for the following build. But I will still be upgrading this monster! Thank you all.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/b7j2ZL

BTW.

If you find anything good please inform me...

I am buying my PC from DynaQuestPC http://dynaquestpc.com/. They have good prices there.

Hello everyone!

I need some help building my first rig. Also this is my first post is any forum, so I may not be doing it right. I've been following LinusTechTips but just as a reader and viewer, comment, post or whatsoever. I'm from the Philippines and I think the prices here are a bit higher.

Going back, here's my planned build. It is a somewhat budget and somewhat enthusiast build because I am also planning on investing on other things such as MTBs (hope you can help me here too), but still planning to upgrade this rig of my own in the near future.

Budget: 50,000PHP- or about 1000USD

Aim: Gaming, maybe Programming

Others: I will recycle some of our old peripherals until money comes in.

Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XLy8P6

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K

MoBo: Asus Z97M-Plus Micro ATX

RAM: Kingston HyperX Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600

HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB DirectCU II

Case: Corsair 350D Window MicroATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze

I am not sure about the MoBo, may there is something better at that price range? Also, I would just like a simplistic case but I would love it to be windowed so I chose that case. Maybe more value graphics card that GTX760? And will it all be fine with that PSU?

Thanks guys! Appreciate the help that would come. :D

Any particular reason why you have to go with a microATX build? The air inside the case wont be much and wont cool the stuff inside very well.

If you want to stay with this, get a R9 280 instead.

Mobo from ASUS is pretty good, you wont have any problem with that

I would suggest a full tower case with a stronger PSU (for future crossfiring/SLI) and an r9 290 or 280x

Good luck finding some of those parts in brick-and-mortar shops... (I'm also in the Philippines, QC)

Still, you need to invest more on the PSU... Do not buy no-names or the low-end branded ones...

Also, if you do find them, please PM me on where since I'm mapping places that sell parts...

Thanks for the reply man!

I just think that i wouldn't be using the additionals slot in an ATX but if it would be better, why not. What would be a good ATX board btw?

I wanted an Nvidia card because imo the support there is better.

Kamusta ka bro!

I just based most of the parts from http://pcx.com.ph/. But I think I will buy most of this at Gilmore Shops.

Wouldn't a 500W be enough?

If so something like this would suit you I suppose.

Note that not all the part may be available for your country, so try to look for similar model, IE almost any 120 GB SSD will do, any 7200rpm 1TB HDD, GTX 770 except the reference cooler (though the reference cooler of Nvidia is quite good too), any case you want that support ATX (almost every case out there) and around 550-600W PSU.

500W is enough, but I'd suggest 550-600 so you have some headroom for overclocking and all

I think that would exceed my budget. But I will still try to find something.

Get the corsair spec series cases, an r9 280 (which is cheaper yet performs better than 760 when OCed) and just try to find a PSU that is atleast 80+ gold

The BBQ: i7-4770 / 212x / Tri-X R9 290x 1075/1400 / MSI H87-G43 GAMING / EVGA G2 850W / Corsair Spec 03 / Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD / Toshiba 2TB HDD / 8gb Kingston DDR3 1600mhz

Kapos sa pera hahaha...

I'd feel more comfortable having 600W on hand for expandability and overclocking...

Try PCOptions, PCWorx, and PC Gilmore for some of the parts... They usually sell at 5-10% cheaper than PCX... There's also this shop on the 4th floor of the IT Center where you can get some half-decent cases and DeepCool heatsinks and fans...

I haven't tried getting parts from Gaisano yet but try them too...

I wowed at first seeing that this build is less than $1000, including an SSD and a GTX770 but I checked the PCX website and they sold GTX770s at about 20000PHP or 450USD. But I may looked more into this as this would be an amazing "somewhat budget and somewhat enthusiast build". Thanks man!

Thanks for the suggestions! I would be canvasing may before the end of the month and I will look at these shops. I saw some shops at Greenhills ViraMall too but I didn't have time to look at their prices.

I couldn't find the time to look in Greenhills yet since I'm usually busy and that area is known for heavy traffic (I'd rather not sit in traffic... The MRT is bad enough...)...

If you find anything good please inform me...

Thanks in advance...

Also there are some Gilmore-equivalent shops in Festival Mall Alabang and SM Megamall... They're more expensive by 2-10% than the Gilmore shops but they're still cheaper by 3-5% than PCX...

For headphones, I suggest going to EggHead in Robinson's Galleria... They have a nice selection there...

I look over that website a bit... look like your only other option here is R9 270, but try to look for atleast R9 280 at some other shop as well
