You will want a z97 mobo if you are getting a K cpu so you can overclock.

Might also want low profile ram though just to be safe.

Also I'd swap the ssd out for a samsung 840 evo.

Other than that it looks pretty good.

- Get Z97

- Replace RAM with this http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl9d8gbxl - Higher frequency and better components.

- Reaplce SSD with Crucial MX100 or Samsung 840 EVO

- Replace GTX 770 with R9 290

- If you want a good high wattage PSU (for future 2x crossfire) Get EVGA G2 850W. Otherwise just get the CS550M.

Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Switch the Noctua cooler for a liquid cooled H100i or H80 from corsair.

Can you say why? there will be no difference in temperatures, the Noctua cooler is a lot more quiet and will last forever, the AiOs have timed life and an extra failure point, the pump.

Switch the motherboard to a Z97 option, you cannot overclock on H97. And if you don't want to OC at all, get a non-k CPU and ditch the CPU cooler.

i believe the power supply is overkill. also the msi z97-g45 is like 30 bucks cheaper and i would just go the crucial ssd 256gig for $110

corsair 600t, msi z87-g45, intel 4770k, 16g patriot viper low-pro ram, asus direct cu2 780, crucial 256gig ssd, seagate baracuda 1tb,

I can recommend the Coolermaster Nepton 140XL for cooling your cpu. Alto I dont overclock, I just want a quiet pc. It fits in the Fractal define R4 in the back. So you don't need to "open" the top fan mounts. I would imagine the sound is lower because of this. It will fit in any 140mm fan mounting place i would assume!

The fans who comes with the cooler stays at 800rpm on idle, and ramps up to 1400rpm when I play. I got a amd fx8350 tho, and its keeping 40°C max temp using prime95 or gaming. I have no idea if the intel cpu produce more heat tho.

im a fan of the looks on that case

Cooling System Front (intake) :

120 x 120 x 25 mm Turbo fan x 1 (1000rpm, 16dBA)

120 x 120 x 25 mm (optional)

Rear (exhaust) :

120 x 120 x 25 mm Blue LED fan (1000rpm,16dBA)

Top (exhaust) : (optional)

120 x 120 x 25 mm fan x 2 or 140 x 140 x 25 mm fan x 2

Bottom (Intake) : (optional)

120 x 120 x 25 mm fan

http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model_Specification.aspx?id=C_00001960

I belive 120mm fans make more noise and/or have less airflow than 140mm fans. but maybe thats not a problem. I like to use 140mm fans only,, like in my R4 I can have 6x 140mm fans (alto I only have 3 installed atm)

my 600t has 2 200mm stock fans and with a 4770k with just a small overclock it stays around 50-55 degrees when i play skyrim at ultra settings. thats with the noctua nh-d14

so much air restriction on that radiator seems like it would be a bad idea. especially with that hard drive cage covering the whole bottom half might as well just mount a 140 aio to the back

Shows you how to add a 280 radiator in the FRONT of this case! It is awesome =P

Sadly you kinda depend on the fans, the front is pretty restrictive, radiators are restrictive by themselves and on the other side there are hard drives and stuff. If you have some powerful fans with good static pressure (let's say Gentle Typhoons, Noiseblockers or Noctua) then you are ok, but they are over $20 each one. If you go for some fans that move a lot of air and are on the budget side (let's say Lepa vortex, Bitfenix spectre and Cooler Master Jetflo) then you end up having a noisy PC (not the point of the R4).

When you air cool on the R4, ditching the hard drive cages (you can put drives on the back and the 5.25" drive bays), with some decent fans at the front, the case overall gets a good amount of air coming in, while staying on the quiet side.

My personal experience in PC building showed me that you can pretty much use any fan, undervolt/PWM control them if you want it quiet, but always keep a non-restrictive intake. Cases like the Source 220, Cooler Master N200, Corsair 450D, Fractal Arc Midi R2, and similar others, are a very safe choice regarding temperature.

It's up to preference and how much do you want to pay per fan.

Hey Guys

Here are the parts.

I personally think it's a decent build.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/gMNxTW

Any suggestions though?

Personally I would Get

Gigabyte GA-Z97x-UD5H-BK motherboard $169.99 ( Newegg )

EvgaSuperNova 750 G2 220-G200750-Xr750W on sale for $104.00 (Newegg)

And your 4690k is a bit over priced newegg is offering it for 234.99 and you can find it on Amazon and ebay for under 200 if you look.

The memory you chose is expensive you can find Kingston Hyperx fury for DDR3 for less then 80.00,  I would go with a better case but that's your choice on what you like.

Personally If Im going to go with an ATX tower I would get a NZXT H440 for around 120.00 and on sale you can find it for less then 110.00

you can also find a GTX 780 reference for less then 500.00, or  you can pick up an R9 290X for around the same price and get better performance. For another Option you could go with Dual EVGA GTX 760 SC for about $450.00, But you might also take a look at the R9 285.

If you need and more help Just send a message I am always willing to help.
