So I'm looking at getting a new graphics card. I am currently running a gtx570 from msi with 2 1080 monitors but only use my one 120hz for gamming. I am not going to get an amd card being I use adobe software and can use the cuda boost. I'm not sure if I should get the 770 or 780. I'm still in high school so I don't have loads of $ but will be working most days during the summer. So I know I could afford a 780 but I'm not sure of its really worth the $250 extra. I want to upgrade soon being my 570 is starting to give me troubles over long usage sessions. Thanks.

Probably rather just get a 680 when the price for it is going way down...

If you're planning on making use of CUDA often plus you're gonna be constantly gaming on the 120Hz monitor you would want to go with the 780.  Otherwise get the 770 or 680 like the gentleman above me said.

If you really want to be able to take advantage of your monitor the 780 would be the one to go with.

That it's kinda what I am thinking now, but 650 is a lot.

probably, I mean, the 770 and the 680 are at near identical prices at the moment, when the full line of 7XX is unveiled, the price on the 6XX will drop, not too much though, look at how much they still sell a GTX 580 :/

so yeah, 770, wait a couple months

Probably by 10-30 dollars if an AMD card comes out.

It won't drop significantly.

Not really knowing NVIDIA and how they price their cards. Get the 780 cause it'll easily average above 120 frames which means you can make full use of your 120hz monitor.

Thats why i said go with 680, you could probably get 2x680s (for the same money) when the market is accustomed to the new 7xx series

alright, if I was to get a 770 I could get it in like 2-3 weeks but the 780 would be a couple months out so do u think the 780 will be like $600 or less by then? Or will it stay above 600 for a while

Well... i would probably start by looking at my whole PC then first, before getting one of the most expensive GPUs on the market.

Sounds like wanting to buy a lamborghini while living at your parents place...

I don't see that as a really valid reason to drop $650 on a GPU...

I forgot CUDA support as well. But also if you have a 120hz monitor you're gonna wanna fully utilize it and the 780 easily does that. Plus he won't have to upgrade for another 3 years/ another 2 GPU cycles with the 780. Worthwhile investment,

not really, it's better to upgrade yearly, even though this cycle is wacky, it's better to buy, sell, buy, sell, as you don't loose much money and you don't have to "invest" in one GPU (I'd only invest if I had watercooled it)

Yeah, the mobo was the cheapest at $100, I have a 3770k in it with 16gb ram that is of. So yeah my mobo was one of the cheapest z77 that I could get i think
