HyperX Cloud. Sennheiser PC350/G4ME Zero or PC360/G4ME One if you can find them within your budget.

edit: If you really want the best sound quality, consider getting proper headphones (like Sennheiser HD518/558, Beyerdynamic DT-770/DT-990, browse Audio sub-forum for more info) and an external mic (like ModMic clip-on or Blue Snowball desk).

This exactly. If you really care about the sound, get a good headphone and a microphone separately.

If you really want a headset, I've used the A40, Siberia V2 and Corsair 2100. All comfortable for long periods of time and have a relatively good sound.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k | CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 | Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 MARK 1 | Memory: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866MHz | GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 4GB Windforce

i've got the corsair 2100 but i'm having to get rid of them because they cause around my ears and the top of my head to ache badly, so i'm just wondering are the a40's any good for what you pay for?

I'm sad to hear that. My 2100s have been awesome so far... have you tried "forcing them open" with books or something so they are not that tight anymore? My first month was not that comfortable but now it's just amazing.

The A40s are pretty expensive with that amp but they do have some cool features. I do not own one myself but have borrowed it from a friend a couple of times(withoutt that amp) and they are pretty good. I like the 2100 better for the wireless feature but both are very comfortable. I think the A40 has smaller cups though, cannot be sure but feels like that. But it uses a 3.5mm audio jack so I guess that's something positive. They say the A50 is amazing but I can't drop $250 for a headset.

Try to go to a store and try them there if you can!
