Sandisk's Ultra II SSD

cliodude1

So I've been looking for an affordable yet speedy SSD, and I have come across this rather newly released SSD, the Sandisk Ultra II SSD: http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-ii/

Any thoughts on it? It's cheaper than anything similar in storage (Crucial, Samsung, Kingston, the likes), and it seems fast and some nice extras.

I've got two 240GB Extreme II disks in RAID 0 in my rig and and I haven't had any problems with them. So I assume that the Ultra 2s will be just fine as well.  If they are the cheapest that you can get a hold on, and you don't want bleeding edge read/write-speeds I think you should go for them.   :)

Honestly, it's really difficult to tell the difference between mainstream and enthusiast SSDs for average users. I used to use an Intel 530 SSD, switched to a cheapo Sandisk Ultra Plus, nearly half the price for the same size. Didn't notice much a difference. Maybe Windows loaded a second faster? But that's all within margin of error, were I to benchmark it.
