backup drive for both mac and PC?

do these things even exist? my uncle is really hating the mac now, he bought an imac for 1500 with an i3 in it. and then he cant use the same backup drive for his printing business on his mac and a windows laptop. he said i can build him a nice $500 pc for photoshop and illustrator on his next upgrade. but is there any external drive out there for both mac and pc

 

stupid production businesses thinking macs are good for them smh. (although the pro is good for video)

They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

Doubtful. Both despise each other. What on earth drove him to purchase an apple when he runs a business?

since hes the go to guy for charities who want flyers and sutff. he goes to conventions alot. and from word of mouth i guess. he told me everyone uses a mac, thats why they are good. and i told him. for 1500 i can build you a computer that is guaranteed to run for 8 years without any notice of speed. the other retarted stuff about macs is since his office has the printer hooked. whenever i wanna print a paper for school it has a stupid font that it applies to the document.

Can he just store the files he needs in a cloud and retrieve them later?

he has a g drive account with a TB of space. he just finds it inconvenient. drag and drop is good. he doesnt like an extra 2-3 steps for storing stuff.

Format it as exFAT, that works w/o file size restrictions on both PC & Mac.

i hooked it to his laptop first to change it to FAT32. all that did is let the mac view files on the external drive. but not copy anything to them.

Ahhh so he stepped in the bullshit then. I honestly no nothing about Apple products other than apple going out of it's way to not work with anything that isn't apple or apple approved. My advice would be to sell that POS and get something with windows, there's a reason most businesses use windows and or linux, compatibility.

never knew that was different. imma do it by friday then. all dem gigabytes i have to transfer from his drive to my computer for a couple minutes  :angry:

Haha, it was created to be cross-compatibe, without the file size restrictions FAT32 has.

i just hate the fact that i have to go through such trouble. its not like googles chrome devices refuse the usage of a usb because its been intended for a different use.
