led ligthing help

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

case mod, need a thin soloution :P

LED strips can be found pretty thin. LED strips will project light, whereas EL wire will only offer a subtle glow. EL wire is much more effective when you can see it straight on. LED strips are more effective when you're trying to light up the inside of a case, and the strip is hidden where you can't see it.

dont suppose anyone knows how to get something that lights up thats only 1-3mm thick?? eg some sort of lit paper, it doesnt have to contain the light source eg an led but it would have to be able to contain the light emitted by one quite well, like a fibre optic cable.

i needed it thin because i plan on putting it between the gap of the fractal design r4s door and the case, to create a glowing rectangle, where after a bit of sanding id only get a few mm, found some el tape know which might work, thanks anyway
