Hey people of LTT Forums!

I recently bought my PC(yay!) If you want to see the specs, check out my profile. Anyway, I bought these parts from a local retailer, and they don't have some of the major brands like Corsair or NZXT for cases, so I ended up buying a Rosewill RD500-2db for my PSU and a Rosewill Galaxy-03 for the case. Anyway, I think the case looks so cool, however I would like to show my system's interior off, and there is no window. Does anyone have any ideas about how to put a window in? I don't want to have that vinyl rim around the window, I want it to look clean and sleek(it's a blue and black build.) I would like to have it big enough to see everything except the drive cages. Here's an image I ripped off of Google(here). It's not the same case I have, it's just an example.

If you've seen the original side panel, I intend to take out the "arrow" shaped indent on the side(image). I'll be adding more LED Fans, and some LED lights, so it will look better. I'll be buying some cable extenders that are black, so I'll have longer cables. So, the point is, do any of you have any idea of how to mod this? I have a dremel, but no blades. I don't have plexiglass or arcrylic. I don't know how to attach the plexiglass without the vinyl rim. Can anyone help me?

EDIT: I also have a jigsaw, and I have metal cutting blades, but I have no idea where they are.

Thanks,

chargerjake

It's going to cost more for the tools and materials to mod it, then just buying a new case with a window.

If you are willing to spend the time and have the patience I'd suggest a dremel tool using a reinforced abrasive wheel  since it will give little vibration and good control compared to a jigsaw. As for prep. map everything use masking tape and mark all your cut lines on the tape, also mask other areas you want to keep clean and unscratched. When cutting into the panel make sure to cut away from the lines never cut directly on the line or over the line, afterwards you'd want to refine the edge by using a hand file to bringing the cut to the marked line. For the edge since you'd like a seamless finish without U-channel I'd suggest to touch up the edge using a fine tipped brush and black metal paint to match the case. Afterwards you can mount a sheet or pelxi/acrylic using thin double stick tape (I suggest 3M exterior) or you can using a silicone caulk which will also work and give a zero thickness that the foam may create.

Thank you! I will definitely be modding soon.

Check out the videos on this channel, they are very informative! And my personal advice would be using a dremel and then filing. Wanted to do this to my 550D but decided to get a new case instead. :) Good luck!
