Looking for new (mid range) smartphone

Go to solution Solved by TopWargamer,

I forgot to say, I like the looks of the HTC one very much but the specs of the G2 are a bit better, will it be noticeable? I also like the HTC skin/rom (whatever it is called) better then the LG one from what I've seen with friends/family.

Get the G2. I have it myself. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I do recommend that you get rid of LG's shotty Optimus UI by rooting and ROMing it. Other than that, it's a great phone. Has a much larger battery than the M7 and also a significantly more powerful processor.

Hey guys,

I'm using a samsung galaxy Y for 3 years now, I bought it back then because it was cheap (120 euro's) but ever since I'm hating on it for being slow etc. I practically only used it for facebook and whatsapp without 3 or 4G.

Now I'm looking into upgrading my phone, since I want to use it more intensively I'm getting a 1Gig 4G subscription but I don't really know what smartphone to choose to go with it since I'm not really into smarphones...

A couple things I think it should have.

  • A decent screen, good colors and a nice high ppi. I was looking for 720p and up.
  • 16G internal storage OR an sd card slot
  • 4G support (duh)
  • NFC It is not a die hard requirement but it seems nice to have
  • Absolutely not a samsung smartphone, I don't like their design and some problems with their customer support/guarantee policy (is different for every country)

So I've managed to narrow it down to the next three options, if I forgot something please let me know:

The first option is going the sim-only route and buying a nexus 5. This will cost me 700 euro's in total for the phone (340euro's) and subscription together over the 24 month contract time.

The second option is getting a subscription with a LG G2, this costs me 130 euro's to buy the phone and 20 a month afterwards to that comes down to a total of 610 euro's

The third option is going for a subscription with a HTC one (NOT m8) this costs 25 euro's a month so that comes down to 600 for 24 months.

So if you guys  would be so nice to help me out a bit its much appreciated, I'm kinda stuck here and I think I'm missing a lot of options.

Thats what a friend of mine just told me too. The hardware difference between the g2 and one is pretty big, the only thing you can change is software pretty much :P So I think I'll go with the G2, I don't think I can go wrong with either of them, can I? It will be an over 9000 times improvement over my current one.

I just ordered it! The only disadvangate I saw in the G2 is the glossy(and non metal) finish and the (in my opinion) weird positioned switch under the camera. But I'll overcome that ^^
