I bought an asrock a75m fm2+ pro4 to run with a 7850k.

Here's the problem:

On the seller's page they said it supported 2600mhz

I bought it along with an 8gb (2x4GB) 2400mhz trident X ram kit

After installing windows on the system, I went into the Uefi Bios and it said the ram was running at only 1600mhz

I changed the ram speed  to 2400mhz

Crashes
Changed to 2133mhz

Crashes

Changed to 1866mhz and it's stable

I then found out it only supported over 1866mhz with overclocks

When I put the ram clock over 1866mhz, it still crashes after many tweaks, bios updates.

- How do I make use of the 2400mhz ram?

i found out that the motherboard supports up to 1866mhz. so you would need a new mb.

(But dont blame me if im wrong :/)

did you set the RAM DIMM voltage up to 1.65v? default is 1.50v.

just setting default frequency to 2400 and not accompanying voltage will crash

the system. enter all RAM specs manually, frequency, timings and voltage.

  • DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)
  • Timing 10-12-12-31
  • Voltage 1.65V

Thanks for the help guys but when the ram is clocked at over 1866mhz, it crashes within 15mins. Up to 2600+mhz OC is crap from asrock if you ask me. Apparently no one has got one over 1866mhz.

On the sellers page? Was it from an etailer or an individual. If it was an individual try to look it up from their official website.

Thanks guys but it didn't work :/ Guess their "2600mhz+ OC" rating is utter lies. Apparently no one else has been able to get past 1866mhz with this motherboard.
