nvidia GeForce GTX 780 resolution problem

Go to solution Solved by flaro2013,

(((((UPDATE)))))

it fixed itself... i dont know how... i dont know why... but i think this is totally a user error... lol WHEN YOU HAVE 30 FOOT CABLES! label EACH end of the cables! i was using the butt end of cable A into the computer and the other end of cable B... i feel like an idoit...

thanks for yalls help!

so i just upgraded to an awesome GeForce GTX 780. when i was testing it i used a Dual Link DVI-I to the same on the monitor. perfect! hell i can run arma 2 at max graphics on everything! so i go to hook it up to my double monitors one 50 one 37. okay yes they are tvs... yes they are odd inches... but they have been working long befor i installed the 780. im using Dual Link DVI-I, Dual Link DVI-D, to HDMI 30 foot cables... blank screens... so i switch one monitor to HDMI to HDMI perfect! i get 1920x1080! then i try to plug in the DVI-i/HDMI and it shows up and still black screen. then i took an old standard monitor cable with an DVI-I adaptor. IT WORKS! naw just kidding... well it does "work" but only shows up 1360x768 recommended and thats the max setting i can pick. i got an display cable coming in the mail hoping that will work. got any idears?

ps

sory if this post is badly worded... im really tired and at my wits end with this... thanks for your help!

um go into control panel and up the res to 1080p? if you have a 780 why didn't you just buy better monitors?

Uhh...what and how many connections are you using?

both monitors are HD. ive used one connection, ive used two connections, ive used just HDMI (works) ive used just DVI-I (works). its when im using DVI-I to HDMI and or DVI-D to HDMI that it just goes black screen.

there isnt a true "better" monitor. these tvs have worked awesome for all that i do with them. games, videos, and photography.

The cable might be dead?

Your question is very confusing to understand - but;

It sounds like you need a Active adapter. I had this problem but it's slightly different to yours. What I think you need is a Active Displayport-HDMI adapter. However I don't know any nvidia compatable adapters, I only know AMD Eyefinity certified adapter.

That's how I understand your problem.

So, HDMI-HDMI then Active Displayport-HDMI adapter- HDMI to be able to operate both TV's

quote if you want a faster reply

thank you

i have DVIs to HDMI that dont work. my HDMI to HDMI works. and i have a display port to HDMI cable on its way.

my question is. how do i get my DVI to HDMI to work? the screens are black. right now i have an DVI adapter to VGA hooked up to one monitor but it only shows up 1360x768 max.

thanks again for the help!

I think that the DVI-HDMI setup will not work properly at all, so there's nothing you can do really to make it work. I guess the 1360x768 is the strongest it can do. Hopefully the displayport-hdmi cable will work, otherwise you'd need a *active* adapter to make it work
