No wireless networks found with onboard network.

Hey LTT,

I just built my first PC. It has the Gigabyte GA-H87M-D3H motherboard with onboard network (according to the retailer's site).
When I installed Windows 8.1 and wanted to connect to my home WiFi, it couln't recognize any wireless network. (Note that I live in a crowded area with lots of wireless networks available, so it won't be my router).
I have made sure that in the BIOS the onboard LAN was set enabled.
I have no idea how I can connect to the internet with my computer without buying an extra network card.

If any of you have had a similar problem or now the answer, PLEASE let me know.

This board doesn't have an onboard wireless adapter. Only LAN support using an ethernet cable. You'll need to buy a wireless network card, those aren't very expensive.

The board linked does not have inboard wifi. As stated, you will need to buy a USB wifi or wifi card.

Well, this is embarassing. Thanks for the heads up!

Would thoroughly recommend the TP-Link WDN4800 as an adapter if you want a recommendation for one, it works well with Windows and if you fancy doing a Hackintosh a few months or years down the line, it works with that too. It's best to keep your options open.

Compatible with Windows 95
