8350 or 9370? $20 Difference

Should I get the fx-8350 or the fx-9370? Architecturally the same, just different binning. It will be on a custom loop to keep it coo', so it does not burn the house down

 

I would be 8350 all the way, but just noticed they are only $20 apart in price right now.

9370 is a ocd 8350, and guaranteed to run at that speed. Id say 9370.

Well 9370 will probably use more power.....that's the biggest downside I see. If you don't care about that and do WC anyways......go for it and get the faster one.

Already heavily invested in AMD, and I am not much of a gamer, (yes intel has much higher IPC) Photoshop and Illustrator can leverage all the cores. It would be interesting to see how they compare in a real world photoshop comparison.

its the price of some i3's and can overclock to beat i5k's in multi-threaded apps.

8320's dont overclock as well as 8350's, herder hurr der hurr", likely unstable but...meh

Definitely water-cooling. As for power, I don't really care. I am already using about 8600 watts in the building for computers alone anyway. hehe

OP you should look into something like this instead, this is an hyperthreaded quad-core just like the i7

and at stock speed it will outperform a 5ghz FX in 98% of the situations out there including adobe and you don't need

to watercool it...it's a very efficient chip the stock cooler will keep it cool just fine!

it will use less power at the same speed. a higher binned cpu is more efficient
