Do you have any idea how to mod it? or just that it can be done?

I imagine there's a tutorial somewhere. It's probably a case of owning a reference PCB and nvflash the BIOS.

No need for the pcb to be ref. Just the vendor code has to be compatible with the bios. If i remember correctly 10DE is generic nVidia vendor. Just google it, someone must have made a guide.

The main difference is the bios and its licensed and guaranteed to work. Why youd need a 770 in a Mac is beyond me, theyre useless for gaming (joke)

GPGPU programming I guess. GPUs  are no longer strictly for gaming. They play a big part in content creation and that is Apples biggest selling point.

And if you want to use cuda for adobe but don't want to fork out a shit load of cash? There is obviously a market for it or else they wouldn't be selling them.

If you need a work station professional card then buy one.

After buying a mac, most of these people probably can't afford Quadro/Firepro cards. I doubt Photoshop has much use for ECC memory or double precision anyway.

LOL good point. I think there must be an option to buy the Mac Pro tower with a Firepro card. It would stand to reason that Mac would probably finance a tower PC over 5 years cause their clients are dumb enough to do it LOL. Mac Pro Tower $5000 and Firepro mac edition for $4000 = nine large for $5000 worth of hardware to smart people.
