how is that logical if i take a stick and do circles the end of the stick is moving faster... then the part im holding.

Not true, the outside of the disk spins faster than the inside.

 

Yes. When a fixed disk is spinning the outside has a faster ground speed than the inside. There's a word for this but I can't remember it.

rpm stand for rounds per minute, which is the same everywhere on the HDD platter. However you can achieve some faster read times on fresh HDDs if you write on the outer side of the platter first because it moves more data/round. I think Linus once made a video abourt this.

I got this guys.

The red dot and the blue dot are the same distance apart. But as the disk rotates, the dots move a different distance. Blue more than red. So the outside of the disk is moving at a faster speed than the inside even though it's at the same revolutions per minute.
