Hey all,

I'm about to build my first computer and before i actually order and buy the parts I would like to have some thought's on it from more experienced builders.

These are the part's I think are pretty good. Don't have all the parts though since i'm not sure what the best options are.

I have next to each part a "price" that's what i found online! (I live in Belgium)

Corsair Hydro series H100i Extreme Performance CPU Cooler 125€

16gb geheugen 160€
Creative Labs Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express 65€
Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR3 Boost x2 € 87 = 174€
Western Digital 3TB SATA III 7200RPM 64MB Caviar Red (NAS) 125€
netwerk kaart 35€
kaartlezer 10€
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 (Socket 1150-Intel Z97- ATX-DDR3-VGA) 150€
Intel Core i7-4770K (3.5GHz) 8MB - 4 Cores - 8 Threads 320€
Intel 730 Series 240GB SATA III 240€
Corsair RM750 Watt Platinum Fully Modular Power Supply 117€
CASE STORM Trooper with transpanel sidewindow 150€
Asus VN247H-P 23.6" Monitor x2 200€ = 400€

totaal: 2121€

If possible i would like the price to go down a bit, my budget is 2000€! so atm i'm going over it.
The computer will be used as a gaming and work computer! It has to be able to run games at a decent fps, and also has to run quitte heavy programs.

Janos

well first thing is you were picking a z97 board and a z87 cpu which i believe would work but for 10 bucks more your get the 4790k which has better thermals for overclockers, second you had selected a sound card and it is my understanding that the quality of onboard audio is high enough to where you dont need a sound card.... if you do want better audio your better off buying an amp/dac which i dont think would fit your budget. third you selected a server grade hard disk drive which is simply a waste of money to put into a desktop. third... you shouldnt need a fan controller if your only adding 2 fans to the case, the intel 730 SSD you selected was simply over priced for what your actually getting.... so i took all the saved money from that stuff and put it twards a much MUCH better video card. the video card you selected just isnt worth spending the money in my opinion.

Thank you very much!

I would like to know what was wrong with the parts i picked (so i learn ^^).

1. Unless you have really high quality headphones, you won't benefit from a sound card.

2. You chose two times a low end graphics card. Using a single higher end graphics card will give you a better performance per price in almost any situation.

3. That SSD you picked is pretty expensive. There are cheaper ones out there.

4. You won't need such a high-end PSU. In 95% of all cases you won't benefit from an 80+ Platinum PSU.

5. Unless you're really into the design, you won't need to spend 150€ on the case.

yeah i left the case alone simply because it might have been an asthetics thing, and yes the psu he had was way overkill/overpriced

also instead of buying a network card either just use the nic on the mobo or get a usb wireless dongle.
