about to update bios

Go to solution Solved by killcomic,

in the description of the bios update it is improved stability.

I know the risk of bricking is there but i just want to be sure that i am doing it right.

Well, I assume you're using an Asus board, then that's how I update my BIOS, using EZflash.

Improved stability could mean absolutely anything, it sure as hell didn't help me with higher overclocks.

With the asus ezflash utility.
I have never done it before, and just want to make sure i don't F things up.
I am having some issues after i pushed my cpu all the way to 4.7 Ghz. I have since restored defaults and the issues are still present so the next move is updating the bios....

I just want to be assured im not going to brick my board by putting the bios on a thumb drive and using the ezflash utility from the bios to do it.

No, you will not get such an assurance as there's always the possibility of killing your mobo in the process. Besides, I doubt that a BIOS update will help you overclock unless the update is specific to it.

Nah, mate. You should be OK. That flash utility is pretty good and has served me well, but as you know, stuff can always go wrong with this kind of thing.
