So, I was originally wondering if the R4 would be a good case but, several suggested the Enthoo Pro. While it looks like a good case, it being a full tower is a bit big for a dorm room. So, I settled on the R4. I was wondering what a good fan setup would be with a 240mm rad in the top. Would it be worth it to buy another 140mm for the front to use instead of an extra 120mm I already have? Should the 240mm rad in the top be an intake or an exhaust?

Edit: If a 140mm makes a big difference over a 120mm, can someone suggest a good 140mm fan?

This is how I have mine;

2 140mm front intake

1 140mm rear exhaust

H220 in pull exhausting.

Some turn the rear fan to intake, and use only the fans on the rad as case exhaust.

When it comes to the radiator, mount it as an exhaust, because the Define R4 doesn't have a top fan filter.

When it comes to the fans, I'm not really sure, 140mm vs 120mm is not that much about performance, it's just that you can run a 140mm fan at lower RPM and get pretty much the same performance as a regular 120mm fan. You could just leave the 2 included fans in the R4, but, if you want to get other fans, well, listen to other guys. I want to get Corsair AF fans because they look good and I want to paint the rings, you can take a look at those, but some people say that they have a ticking noise when you undervolt them..

Are your case fans running off the fan hub? If so, at what voltage and how are the nose levels?

Yeah, front and rear fans are connected to the built in fan controller. I'm using the supplied pwm fan splitter that came with my H220 for the pump and rad fans. This enables a cleaner look as I don't have to use any  fan headers on the motherboard.

Lately I've been leaving the fans on 5v which is very quiet, despite even having an Industrial Noctua.
