Oink!

So I did a stress GPU (r9 280x Toxic) test earlier on with MSI Kombustor, I used the Extreme 1080p (with AA x4 MSAA, Furry Donut animation) for about 10 minutes. My max temps were 90°C. I'm not sure if it was artifracting, but it didn't look really smooth. After that I left my PC rest for some minutes. I wan't sure about my test 100% so I did a second one with a custom preset (1280 x 720p , no AA) using another type of animation (Furry MSI), but this time I was starting to panic, the animation was completely black, but it should of had a red-ish colour. Is my card artifracting?

If it doesn't do this in games then don't worry.

I currently only played 2 games on my new PC. I play Unturned and Minecraft (don't judge me). I played the beta of the new version of Minecraft and it artifacts when I put my render distance over the "medium" setting let's say. I'm kind of worried about it, hope it's nothing serious or only the driver.

I'll re-install my drivers and I'll re-do the test, then I'll take a screenshot.

ok

is the card overclocked?

if it is, up the core voltage or lower the clock speed

Try turning down the clock or increasing the core voltage. Then do the stress tests again and see if you get the same results.

Ok, This will be my last stress test for today. My core voltage is 1200, what should I set it at?

just increase it a little by like 50 or so, and turn your core clock down by 50

I set it like you told me, I did other tests too, they don't have problems, it's only the Furry MSI animation that doesn't work. I reset the voltage and clock to stock. I'll do another test tomorrow and I'll re-install the drivers. Thank you for the help, I might PM you if I have anything new to tell.

ok

don't worry about it too much if the other ones work with no issues

Well, yes but unless it happens in games then don't worry about it.

Stay away from Furmark and Kombustor, it has the potential to brick your card, happened to my 770 Lightning. Use Unigine Heaven or Valley to stress test and benchmark.

Thanks! Did a 10min. test with Valley, everything works fine. I'll do some more with Heaven tomorrow.
