So my grandmother told me "I want a cheap computer just for video playback and the internet, but I want it fast as sh**." So I was like alright. I don't think she want to spend too much more than 500 including monitor and keyboard/mouse.

Maybe put a A4-5300 in it insted of the A8-5600K. It should be more then enough for video playback and surfing the internet. You could also opt for 4GB of ram insted of 8GB. But if that is what she is willing to pay, it is a solid system.

A10 would be going too far over budget, I'm already over 11 dollars without keyboard and mouse as is.

Yeah I could drop down the to A4, wasn't sure how much of a performance slowdown she would get in everyday computing as is.

I know there are new apus coming out VERY soon so I think I'm going to wait for that before I have her pull the trigger, but this is what I'm looking at for now.

Get a slightly bigger monitor. I find anything below 23" as a primary display a bit small. You don;t want her to strain her eyes now, do you?

Cheaper Dvd drive:

Your motherboard doesn't have usb 3.0 headers for the front ports of your case. Also, it's a micro-atx. Get this instead:

I recommend the mk200. I've used these for years and I use them for family builds. Cheap with simple media keys. If you're doing peripherals, it's hard to go wrong with Logitech.
