760 will do it. 770 will just do it better. I am still running a 470 (granted its overclocked VERY aggressively), but it handles most everything I throw at it. Not maxed out anymore, but very close. Compared to a 760, pretty sure my card is pretty slow (it runs at between 570 and 580 performance levels with the OC its at). So if you compare a 760 to a 580, it will be a pretty healthy increase over my performance.

A 760 will run all of those maxed out at 1080p easy, maybe even 1440p. If you can get a 770 or 780 but if it strains your budget a 760 is more than enough! :)

It's actually not I would not be happy with 35 FPS average on BF4

Im looking for graphics card for my custom computer. Is gtx 760 4gb powerful enough for these couple years old games (Black Ops 2, Battlefield 3, max settings) or should I get gtx 770 or 780?

Welcome to Linus Tech Tips! Since you're not waiting off for Maxwell, an R9 280 would be the best choice for you. 760/770 aren't that good for the money compared to AMD.

I don't agree with this sheet. I have a Sapphire R9 270 2GB and it runs BF4 on ultra over 40 FPS. Maybe BF4 got patched and new drivers came out, but either way a GTX 760 is in the ranks of a R9 280/x so it should run on higher FPS than what is showed in this graph.

^ Agreed. My friend has a 760 and for the newest titles it's actually not enough to max out games at 1080p. It's even seeing frame rate drops in The Crew, a game limited to 30FPS, at 1080p

Mantle....

And 760 = 270X.

280x is on par with a 770 not a 760 + as @Aniallation said you have Mantle with the 270.

760 will be just fine for those games.

I think I ran BF4 in Dx11 because I didn't switch anything in the settings other than pump it up to Ultra since it used to run on med/high on my GTX 465 before it died. So I'm not sure if I ran it in Mantle.

My 750 Ti, which performs about 10% slower then an R9 270, can't run BF3 smoothly at ultra settings at 1440x900, never mind BF4 at 1080p.

Along with this, I also have a friend with an MSI Gaming GTX 760. He plays BF4 all day and we can confirm that a 760 does NOT run BF4 maxed out at 1080p smoothly.

As an owner of a gtx 760 and BF4 i can tell you that it can run BF4 smoothly 1080p full settings minus the anti aliasing

And also i own Black ops 2 and it can max that out, but do not buy a 4gb version

That data was gathered with the Ultra detail preset. If you've got a mid-range card and a brain, you're adjusting your settings manually to make sure you're getting the best performance. First thing to go in BF3/4 on a mid-range card should be Anti-aliasing Deferred, which should give you a huge chunk of FPS back.

Mantle....

And 760 = 270X.

The 760 is equivalent to the R9 280 (Non X), which is the rebranded HD 7950. The 270X is basically a rebranded HD 7870, which is a full step slower.

Which reminds me, I think I run AA & AF at 2-4x, can't remember exactly. But I'm overall very happy with the performance of the R9 270 @1080p.

Why not 4gb?

the extra 2gb doesn't do shit at 1080p

What about AMD Radeon R9 280x 3gb GDDR5?

And processor is gonna be i7 4770k 3.5GHz.

I'd strongly recommend the 280X, its well priced and actually outperforms the GTX 770 by a little in Battlefield 4.

Avoid the 4 GB versions of the GTX 760 and 770. For about the same price as a 760 4 GB, you could get an R9 280X or GTX 770. For about the same price as a 4 GB 770, you could almost buy an R9 290.

Actually the 760 slots in between the 270X and 280, however the 270X is a smaller difference. The 280 is just a binned, underclocked 280X (like 8320 vs 8350)

The 280 is not only lower clocked than the 280X, its got fewer stream processors than the uncut Tahiti processor as well. So even at the same clock speed as the R9 280X, the 280 is still going to be a step below.

In actual games (to the exclusion of 3DMark), the GTX 760 is consistently closer to the R9 280 than anything else and in certain titles even a little faster. Which is, no surprise, a similar result to benchmarking it against the HD 7950 back when that was relevant.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/05/19/amd-radeon-r9-280-review-feat-xfx/1

Nvidia really doesn't have anything recent that directly competes with the R9 270X at its price.
