Guys (after being rejected by amazon on every GPU because they dont ship to my country and i was planning to go with the g10 bracket) I am lost.... should i upgrade (from a 660) and if i should which GPU should i get now? (which is the best bang for the buck?)

unless you're unhappy with 660 perf I'd grab a 290 for best price/performance, as if you get something like 270x which is only marginal step up it's wasted money.

290 is the sweet spot for price/performance IMO, get the Tri-X cooler if possible.

the r9 290 would be a good choice if you can, like suggested above, get the Tri-X cooler.

R9 290 tri-x. Love it. Got it refurbished for 290 bucks.

If you want to spend less, take a 270 with X or without. But that makes no sense since performance is too similar to the 660.

So get a 290 with a good cooler and don't do the kraken. There is no great gain compared to the price you pay. At least that is my opinion.

most of the 290s are good, although stay away from Asus directCU2. if you need black and red definitely take msi instead.

there really is no other good upgrade, as the 760 isn't much faster and the 770 is overpriced. a 280 or 280x would also be a good upgrade over a 660, but not nearly as much bang for buck as 290.

yeah I've had my share of driver problems over the years with nvidia too. they've gotten better since fermi, but before gtx600 series came along nvidia drivers were holy-balls-unstable at times. I haven't had any driver issues with my 660 or 760, so they've improved.

I've yet to have a driver issue with my 290, and before I cooked my 7950 I never had a driver issue with that card either.

imo, most of the bad driver talk these days comes from people parroting problems that were reported many years ago, like a bad game of telephone.

I have had few from team Red and team Green, and more driver issues are with team Green. I do not know from where these myths about AMD drivers and lags are coming. Lately few of my costumers told me to keep to Nvidia, because AMD has so many problems. I do not understand their problems, because most of them have not even owned AMD card, so..

Really? I found more 290s than 290Xs when I bought my parts.

The Tri-X is cooler and quieter, personally I would pick performance over following my colour scheme, perhaps you can paint it?
