Why is my 1600mhz ram 1333 mhz?

That's the standard settings that every motherboard sets RAM to at first. You have to go into the BIOS and set the XMP profile that your RAM is advertised with manually.

change it in the bios

Yeah my corsair vengeance 1600mhz Blue 8gb kit ram did that. tbh, i haven't noticed a performance increase since i set it to 1600 instead of the default 1333.
