So I might be ordering my parts on Thursday when I get my money and I have my parts ready but I need to know is there anything I am missing to build my PC?

Parts: (Do I need to get the thermal paste or does the h100i come with thermal paste like the stock fan does?)

http://gyazo.com/1794eb56cc6f82edf38d36af2628023f

Just wondering if I am missing anything(except mouse, keyboard, etc.). I don't want to start my build and have to stop half way because I am missing something or messed something up while I'm build it.

And any TIPS, TRICKS or ADVICEanything I should know or do while I'm building my PC?

looks pretty good though i would opt for slightly cheaper ram, something more like patriot black mamba edition or something like that and up your videocard much more beneficial then platinum ram otherwise its looking pretty good :) maybe a slightly smaller case as well, the phantoms are really large unless your planning to do a multi card setup in the future that extra space is kind of a waste, if your choosing that case because of the rgb lighting you can just buy an nzxt hue, pretty much the same thing

dominator platinums are a waste and so is the super clocked, overclock it your self. and 8gb is enough

and the h100i comes with thermal paste

I will be rendering alot of videos and I would like them to render as fast as possible and the 660 super clocked is like $0.40 more than the none super clocked.(Not that I care but I thought it would be better to go with the superclocked )

well then just get cheaper ram, the platinums are slow for the price

Don't get platinums for anything but the looks. Ram is ram. You can get much cheaper ram with the same specs.

Don't get aftermarket thermal paste. The one that comes with is fine. Also, you might mess up and makes temps worse by applying your own paste.

Unless you're rendering/editing, get a 7850, 7870, or 7950. Better bang for your buck.

Drop the black caviar and a seagate barracuda for storage. Get a samsung 840 120gb ssd for os/apps.

The sabertooth is also a waste of money if you're getting ti for anything but looks.

Here's what you could do instead of buying a bunch of overly expensive parts to the point you have to resort to a 660:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/10G6a $1165. Not counting $20 rebate from gpu and $15 rebate from motherboard.

The ram is the same as any other CL9 1600 memory. It's like the ram in my list but more expensive. It also has large heat spreaders that can get in the way. Some people like that. It's not for me though.

Also, if you're only gaming and not rendering/editing, the 7870 is a better alternative to the 660. http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7870-vs-GeForce-GTX-660

Oh and pertaining to your original request: The tip and trick is to not spend money where you don't need to so you can fit as many good parts under as low of a budget as possible.

Yep. Considering what you were about to spend you could actually fit a 680 in your build right now. What is your budget?

Also, if you're using Premiere or After Effects: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/14186-how-to-get-nvidia-cuda-support-in-adobe-creative-suite-6-for-gtx-gpus/

My budget is about like $1,000 -$1,200

My budget is about like $1,000 -$1,200

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/10GhW $1201 not counting $20 rebate from gpu and $10 rebate from the psu.

I managed to get the 680 in there but in order to fit it in, I had to leave out the aftermarket cooler. You can buy it later. The intel stock cooler is enough for a 4.0ghz overclock for the time being.

The build will be ready for a 680 sli and all you have to do is buy another one to stick it in.

This way, you don't have to waste $200 on a 660 or some other prequisite card.

Does that mobo work as well as the sabertooth z77?

Does that mobo work as well as the sabertooth z77?

Of course not. The sabertooth is a waste of money though if you're getting it for anything but the looks.

It will do everything you need it to without costing as much as the sabertooth.

So the sabertooth IS better than the other mobo you showed me? And is it true that it gets very hot with the thermal case plus i like the thermal case and the dust filters.

Of course it's better.Otherwise, it'd be regarded as one of the worst price tags ever. Is it worth the extra money though? I don't think so.

I'm not sure whether or not the thermal case makes it hot but it should be warmer.

Like I said, the only good reason to get the motherboard is the looks. If you want to pay $100 more for the looks, that's your choice.

The sabertooth also has more usb 2.0/3.0 ports, esata slots, and 2 more Pci express slots.

Will I use all those slots? Sorry if I'm bothering with all these questions.

No. You won't even use all the slots on the motherboard I chose earlier.

I chose an atx board because most people enjoy having an atx motherboard when in fact, you could do with a smaller micro-atx build.

It's kind of like how newbies like to shove 1200w psu's into their build.
