so i got a s5 about 2 weeks ago and i have noticed that so much RAM is just always in use and my phone is slower then my old iPhone which is a bit sad but the point is that i don't know what is causing it. i already looked into using a different home screen launcher thing (i'm using nova) but like any other S5 users who know about this or know how to fix it, it would be great

also I am still fairly new to the whole android scene so don't be super complex please(but at the same time I'm not stupid, i know how to do most things)

Me? a girl? psh, don't be silly, everyone knows girls don't use computers

Root it with kingo root and install your preferred android OS variant (eg cyanogen mod). That will not trigger knox and you'll have super fast phone.

He is going to need the warranty and as he said he is new to the concept.

Try a factory reset and stop using things like nova just for aesthetics the only thing will do is to eat the ram

I just switched to the Galaxy S5 from my old iPhone too.

This doesn't happen to me that often, that being said, I'm just using pretty much stock TouchWiz..

Maybe try using Clean Master, I don't personally use it, but it has pretty good ratings and it's a quite commonly used app..

Any idea which applications are using so much ram?

Some steps here might help speed things up

Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mem.usage&hl=en

take out any process that you don't need

Already using the app and it's still using mover 50% RAM which is a joke because it is a new phone.

DISCLAIMER!

I know about Rooting and other things, I'm not stupid and i have tried things. I just want to know if there is other ways because it is frustrating me coming from an iPhone 5 only to have this be slower

I am running it right now! i literally said that 2 minutes ago

Sorry, posted that without refreshing the page, I have alot of tabs open, so I just get to each one very slowly, and this is not surprising with the amount of shit bloat-ware the Samsung S5 has though, but still, my friend has one, and it does not go above 35% when not in use for him

I went through the system and pretty much cut every bloatware app i could find and then ran a system clean to cut the processes.  It's beyond a joke that a current gen phone is slow like this  <_<

That is more effort then it is worth because i all end up doing is having to go through the same process that i have already done

Can I have the exact model no. of the device, maybe it is different in some way, like for each market, samsung makes a different variation, depending on carriers and stuff, maybe something is different?
