Grandmas Gaming Rig

Go to solution Solved by Shaqo_Wyn,

So i have a old GIGABYTE GA-MA78LM-S2 (rev 1.0) motherboard and im needing a new cpu for it, i want to upgrade but the  AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black edition is a 125watt cpu, While my current Athlon 64 X2 5000+ is only 65 w. Will the Phenom quad core be compatible with my motherboard wattage wise? iv looked everywhere, so i came to the pros.. and there is an award,

You will be awarded a genius award if u can figure this out.*

*Award is non existant

The CPU's compatible with that mobo according to PCpartpicker. http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu/#sort=a8
