3rd Generation 16nm Maxwell GTX 880 Ti Coming Sooner Than Expected.

whats up with the "sooner than expected" titles nowadays. How did anyone know when to expect it?

well i'm assuming if the 6s comes out in June/july than the Gtx 900 series will be out in october/november. I don't really see how its "sooner than expected"

Not going to happen. nVidia even had to trash the 20nm chip. How on earth would they be able to spit out a 16nm chip?

Snip

TSMC has already confirmed 16nm mass production can go online in mid 2015. Some processes provide fewer problems and better yields. That's why Intel went with 22 over 20.

I'd whipe my ass with this news. It's WCCF

Whip your ass with it is a completely different action... Maybe a bit masochistic.

But I do agree that this is probably bull crud.

Looks like this thread was as much of an emotional roller coaster for me as for many other readers.

*3rd Generation 16nm Maxwell GTX 880 Ti Coming Sooner Than Expected*

"Oh great they are coming sooner than expected!"

*Check and see WCCF tech link, and the fact that the title on there says COULD be coming sooner*

"Oh but wait, the source is from another site!"

*Macrumors site doesn't mention Nvidia or even AMD at all*

Yeah it's pretty annoying. Another annoying this is headlines that end with question marks. If it ends with a question mark then you can pretty safely say someone just made a guess.

ALL WCCFtech "news" should be required a "[WCCF]"-tag in the topics, so we're warned prior to viewing the news.

Not everything WCCF posts is garbage. All news organizations copy from each other if they're beaten to a story. AppleInsider is decently reputable. And the WCCF Haswell predictions were all spot on.

Not everything in the sewers is shit, but when most of it is shit, you usually don't want to touch the rest of things floating in there.

So you're saying even if WCCF shows signs of improving and becoming a more legitimate news source you won't give it a chance? That seems a little unfair. People have avoided IE since version 9 despite the fact it got a LOT better and is as good as Firefox for 95% of the internet, forcing Microsoft to abandon the name when they make the new one.

Do you trust EA? Do you trust Ubisoft? Do you trust ComCast? etc.. some things never change, and I don't expect WCCF to change when they're progressively getting worse as time goes.

EA I'm skeptical on. Ubisoft I'm skeptical of. Comcast is just corrupt. WCCF has been improving the last year, not getting worse.

It's tradition to always release a Ti version of a graphics card.
