I am thinking of buy a 780 as I have the funds for it right now but I am also thinking of buying a 780ti but I will have to save a bit longer. Just wonder if the extra money was worth the performance increase that it give me or just a get another 780 when I have the funds I can get a 780 new for around £350 and a 780ti for about £510.

Thanks in advance

Yes and no.

I say yes if you can actually afford it and have that money hung up on a super expensive piece of hardware.

No if you have to save up for a long time to buy it because it's not worth having that extra money hung up.

Aaaand the 800 series is supposedly around the corner, but who knows what'll happen.

Don't buy either, wait a month for the new 800 series cards.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

I would go for the 780. The preformance boost isnt that significant.
Though the 800 series will be released soon  so maybe it's worth waiting for that?

I'm running a 780 right now and I am yet to play a game that makes it struggles (and it's at stock, too lazy to overclock  :P

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I digress, if your current rig can run most modern games at 1080p and a decent frame rate (45+), wait for the 800 series, if not 780

Okay so just wait for the release of the 800 series and see what happens then ?

I'm pretty sure we still have no guaranteed date of when they're being released, I wouldn't say wait, if you want a GPU now, look into a 290x/290.

Some 290x's are the same price as 780's, and perform better.

I have thought about this before but the idea of a shield seems really appealing to me as I have to spend a lot of time downstairs with the family this means that I would be able to play my favourite games and still be able to keep the family happy :)
