Can't decide between lg g2 and nexus 5. The lg g2 has better specs but heavier ui and a lot of bloatware. The nexus is a tiny bit smaller, has pure android, but has worse battery life and worse speaker and mic. Which would you choose/recommend me?

I'd go with the G2 with CyanogenMod, if I was in this situation, for the best of both worlds, but it's really personal preference

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

I'd get the Nexus 5 myself, but you could get the G2 and put something like Cyanogen on it and get rid of the bloatware.

I have a GNex with CM11 on it, it's great.

I would loose some camera functions, but does the cyanogenmod support ois and would the camera be as good as with the stock lg rom?

@RapeGod

I say get the G2. I personally have one, and it's great...once you remove LG's shotty Optimus UI. It's insanely easy to root too (a program does it all for you). It's also easy to flash a custom recovery (due to an app called FreeGee), and ROM flashing is simple from there.

So yes, get the G2, but root and ROM it. If you need any more information or any help, I'll be here.

;)

Oh, and check out the root/custom ROM guide: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/127469-general-guide-to-custom-roms-and-rooting-w-faq/

isnt that comparing a 600 dollar phone to a 350 one?

No. Both phones have very similar specs, but the G2 has a better/larger battery and a better camera. Those are the only differences.

You can pick up a G2 off contract for around $350 off of Amazon and Ebay brand new. Or if you go used, you can get one for even cheaper.

Camera quality is based on the actual camera and not necessarily the app. I say "not necessarily" because different camera apps have different default options for JPEG quality.

I personally use the OnePlus camera app and set the JPEG quality to 100%. The only problem with using this app (from *my* experience) is that when switching from default to HDR, the app borks out and makes the camera stop working. You can fix this by restarting your phone, and the next time you launch the camera it will be in HDR mode. To switch back to default you will have to do the same thing.

A more simple alternative is probably the Google Camera app (stock or Play Store version).

The iPhone 5S may have little to no bloatware, but it is far from having good battery life.

>iPhone 5S = 1,560mAh

>LG G2 = 3,000mAh battery

That's almost double, and the G2 can outlive any iPhone on a single charge. Trust me, I know. I own the phone, and it runs circles around my friend's iPhones.
