I Need a Good PC Game

Guest Philosophy

Hello all you Linus lovers, I am looking for a good game ( I quite like simulators and strategies) I am open to anything. What is good right now and will give me a decent amount of play time as I have quite a bit of time off.

Let us know what games you have, then we can suggest some.

I would recommend Assetto Corsa. I've put a lot of hours into it, and it's a lot of fun.

My bad, didn't see the post above containing your game library. Euro Truck 2 is fun, and I recommend that.

Then mod the hell out of it so it becomes a completely new game!

I can recommend Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning. I would describe it as a mix of Fable and Skyrim. Clearing all quests + the two add-ons and some exploration (looking for certain weapons, finding all lore stones, doing some achievements,...) took me about 190h.

How about some of the "big" titles, like the Batman Arkham series, Assassin's Creed series, BioShock series, Dishonored, Dead Space series, StarCraft 2?

If your PC can handle it, X-Plane.

How about a non-Steam game for a change: MUGEN

It it very fun, but keep in mind that the base game is only a mod framework, sort to speak.

Not really a sim gamer but i can make a few suggestions on the strategy game side.

Rome 2: Total War   - It had a terrible release but since the most recent patch all the issues have been resolved. You can easily get several hundred hours of this game. All the total war games are amazing and well worth the money, collectively ive had several thousand hours of play between them over the years.

Command and Conquer Series  -  My personal favourite is CnC Generals, but ive enjoyed every game in the series except for the most recent 2.

Europa Universalis 4  -  Good grand strategy game, most Paradox games are good if you enjoy this type of strategy game.

Age of Empires 2 hd Edition  -   Really good game, looks old but still holds up today,

Supreme Commander 2  - Good solid rts - not my favourite by any stretch but still worth a look if you are an avid strategy gamer.

Strategy games are, in my humble opinion, what makes pc gaming better than console gaming. Who doesn't enjoy out thinking or outsmarting their opponent.

My Steam library is: Assetto Corsa, MW2, GTA IV, Just Cause 2, Civ 5, Test Drive, Skyrim, Morrowind, Borderland 2, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit

Keep in mind, almost all of them are through my own personal experience, so some may not be considered as good to others as they are to me. I've really enjoyed all these games though. These are the games I recommend:

Excellent single player RPG:

The Witcher (2 by itself if you're not too much into RPGs, otherwise start with the first one for excellent story and okay gameplay content)

Dragon Age (ditto with the description of The Witcher)

Kingdoms of Amalur's decent, although way too easy, even on higher difficulties =/

Fable series, although you're missing out on 2 (Xbox 360 exclusive), which imo is the best one

Mass Effect series I heard is also great

Finally, Rage.... I really really liked it, and it's similar to Borderlands in a few different ways with its own originality.

MMORPG:

WoW for paid,

Rift, C9, or Neverwinter for F2P without P2W aspects

Excellent action packed games:

Max Payne (Any, but 3 for the eye candy, also good story),

Left 4 Dead series,

Darksiders series,

Batman: Arkham series (City is the best one imo),

Sleeping Dogs

F2P scene:

Blacklight Retribution for a quick FPS like CoD (Sorry, easiest comparison to make though),

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms for an excellent competitive scene (NOT P2W, but you have to be dedicated to the game to do well),

Warframe is fun and relaxing

Horror:

Amnesia Series,

Alan Wake Series,

Cryostasis (Be warned: NEED good hardware even though it's old),

Metro series? Not sure where it belongs, but it's good nonetheless

Adventure:

Alice: Madness Returns,

I heard the Bioshock series is awesome.

Assassin's Creed series,

Dishonored,

Tomb Raider

Relaxing puzzle games:

Bejeweled,

Plants Vs Zombies,

Peggle,

Portal series,

Super Hexagon (Not quite as relaxing, but challenging and fun)

Detective games:

L.A. Noire,

Murdered: Soul Suspect

Previously Trogdor8freebird

5800x | Asus x570 Pro Wifi (barely enough for 64GB apparently given it's 2133 and still crashes sometimes) | 64GB DDR4 | 3070 Ti 8GB | Love that whole weeb shit

Strategies? World of tanks. You will fail without them.

Simulators? Euro Truck Simulator 2 :D

Does Euro Truck Simulator 2 have a North American setting to drive on the right side?
